Course description:
A friendly and relaxed weekly class open to all skill levels. With the support of your tutor (TBD) , you will be guided through your own individual projects while receiving plenty of ideas, technical support, demonstrations and inspiration along the way. You may wish to try lots of different ideas and techniques, or possibly focus on one or 2 skills. Perhaps you would like to make your own functional items (bowls, mugs etc) or create sculptural or decorative pieces.
As you work on your projects with the support of your tutor, you’ll learn various ceramic techniques (slab building, coil pots, wheel throwing, slip decoration and many more) and discover how to achieve the best results from your finished pieces.
If you prefer a more structured approach, we are very happy to set you projects and create individual plans—just let us know what works best for you.
This class welcomes both complete beginners and experienced potters. You’ll receive lots of creative and technical guidance with your work, and both hand-building and throwing techniques being supported.
Our studio is well-equipped with seven wheels, plus one kick wheel, a slab roller, and an extensive selection of plaster molds and tools. We also offer a wide variety of glazes and slips for you to use and explore.
What to bring:
Please bring with you an apron and hand towel, all other tools will be provided.
Additional charges:
Clay is charged at £5/kg and includes glazes and firing charges.
Age guideline:
Minimum age is 16
Terms and Conditions:
We do understand that weekly courses can be a big time commitment, and where possible we will try to offer class swaps within the course block. This isn’t something we can guarantee though. We also can’t offer drop in sessions to make up any missed classes.
Once you have made your purchase, if for any reason you decide you can no longer attend we cannot offer a refund. We will however try to fill your place and if successful will issue a refund, minus £10 admin fee.
