A two-hour kids and family wheel-throwing session, suitable for children aged 8–16.
In this fun (and messy!) session, your child will learn how to centre, and pull clay on the potters wheel to create pots, bowls, and possibly other forms too. It’s perfect for children who enjoy a challenge and don’t mind getting their hands dirty. Throughout the session, tutor Jenny will provide plenty of guidance, encouragement, and top tips.
Parents and guardians are welcome to drop their children off, stay and relax with a coffee or tea, or book a place to join in the fun themselves.
With a small class size of just seven, each child will receive lots of personalised attention and support. The final 20 minutes of the session are dedicated to choosing glazes and cleaning the wheels (kids often love this bit too).
Clay is included, and each child may keep their three best pieces. Additional pots can be kept for £3 per piece, which includes glazing and firing. You will be able to choose from our range of house glazes, available in a variety of colours.
Finished pieces will be ready to collect 6–8 weeks after the session. We will notify you by email when they are ready.
What to Bring:
Apron/old shirt
Small hand towel
Short nails
Long hair tied back.
